For more than three decades, TJ the DJ has been setting the soundtrack to our lives at clubs, concerts, events, award shows, and major sporting showcases in the very city he has grown up in — Pittsburgh, PA. What started as a teenage passion for radio quickly evolved into a lifelong calling. I would wear out tape after tape on my old Radio Shack tape recorder, recording and re-recording Pittsburgh’s legendary Top 40 station B94, trying to replicate the jocks and learning to channel their same enthusiasm and love of music. That early obsession with radio lit the fuse for a career that has since touched nearly every corner of the city’s entertainment and broadcast scene. Entertaining radio listeners for over a decade with his award-winning “The Party To Go” mix show — breaking many hit dance and radio tracks along the way — TJ lit up Friday and Saturday nights on WBZZ 100.7 Star from 2009 to 2020.
Along the way, he has also had the honor of opening for global and national stars — from megastar Hugh Jackman to legendary bands like Journey and Toto, to chart-topping artists like Flo Rida, while also DJ’ing between sets for some of the brightest stars in country music. Beyond the stage, TJ has collaborated with many professional athletes, bringing his signature energy and sound to private events, appearances, and high-profile engagements.
From keeping casino floors alive into the early morning hours, to electrifying Steelers fans on game day, to producing custom audio packages for regional and corporate award shows, to providing the soundtrack for the City of Pittsburgh’s Independence Day fireworks displays, TJ’s work has become woven into the cultural fabric of his hometown.
